You can most effectively renounce unethical, hypocritical institutions posing as religions by choosing to “apostatize.”* By declaring your apostasy, you will no longer be associated with the reprehensible acts and teachings of the hypocritical or criminal church, synagogue, mosque, or other institution that still counted you among its followers, however active or inactive you may have been.

The Catholic Church today is mired in scandal, including shady financial dealings, pedophilia, and nuns who have been raped or have had abortions. Clergymen who commit pedophilia are often merely transferred or reprimanded by their superiors, who often cover up the crimes to spare the Church public humiliation and the need to pay large financial damages to the victims.
